Current/Previous Career: I’m a School Social Worker, and work at the elementary level.
How did you find FIT4MOM? I was connected with FIT4MOM through word of mouth when I was first looking at opportunities to combine being active and maximizing my time with Levi during my summers and breaks off.
What has FIT4MOM done for you (or meant to you)? FIT4MOM has introduced me to a village of inspiring women who encourage me to reach my goals. It has provided me the framework to reinforce how fitness can be fun to Levi. Through Body Back, I’ve found accountability, motivation to push myself harder, and have newfound value in the power of mindfulness.
What was your childhood ambition? My ambition was to become an artist because I’m told I was an expert at staying in the lines while coloring.
What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood means unconditional, unequivocal love. It is so incredibly challenging, and means doing the best I can, which looks different each day. Motherhood means being more proud of a little boy in a way greater than any achievement of my own. It rewarding in a way that is unparalleled by any other experience I've had before.
What is your favorite exercise? I love treadmill running. It’s my go-to workout, and I feel great after I’m done!
What is your proudest moment? I am most proud of surviving nearly 17 weeks of bedrest. Being on bedrest was one of the most difficult experiences I’ve endured, and my, what an unparalleled experience when we heard “it’s a healthy baby boy!”
What are three of your favorite things (besides your family)? I love doing crafts with Levi, scrapbooking, and coffee.
-f we asked your partner what they think your best qualities are, what would they say? I think he’d say that I’m a good mom, and that I’m willing to help others.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us: I work in the same school building where I attended Junior High!
